How it works

Banner Art is easy!

Please remember to log in or register if you want to ensure that you keep your work.

If you want to register after trying out the banner designer, thats fine, but please remember to save your banner before you leave the banner designer!

Choosing a size for your banner

Choose a size for your banner. You can always change your mind later!

Choosing an image

Design your banner! This is the fun part. You can select as many images as you like by pressing the image button which you can then re-size and move to where you want it. You can also upload your own images! But make sure they don't overlap the dots that show where the banner eyelets are, as we are unable to print anything on the outside of the eyelets.

Add some text

Then add some text, choose the font and the colour using the palette that appears. Use the arrow icons to move the text around. Click on it again to change the text, size, font or colour.

Checkout

Save and Checkout! Now you can save the banner and go to the checkout., at this point you'll need to register (if you haven't already) so that we can take payment using your choice of payment methods (credit / debit card or paypal).

Easy as one, two, three!

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your common queries can be found below...

When I go into the design tool it's blank, where are all the tools and images?

It sounds lke you need to download the latest version of Macromedia Flash. If you go to the homepage and click on the "Install Flash" icon, it will take you to the site where you can get the very latest web browser plug in. We recommend restarting your computer after installation as some older machines cannot reload the plug in on the fly. Once you have restarted your machine you should see the design tool no problem, it will also improve your viewing abilities in other funky websites too.

Is it safe to download firefox?

Yes, firefox is extremely safe. This link takes you straight to the secure website. It can be used as a secondary browser or alternative to your existing Internet explorer and you wont need to uninstall IE to run it..

What are the differences between the three materials, besides the price ?

We have offered three materials, that in our experience, are the most requested. All three offer the same image quality and come finished in exactly the same way, with hems and eyelets.
PVC - a waterproof plastic material that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. This is the standard material that banners are printed onto and is most popular for small business and home use.
MESH - also a waterproof plastic material that is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It is made of the same stuff as banner material, but has tiny holes that let the wind pass through it. Ideal for signs that are in an elevated position or in an exposed location.
ARTISTS CANVAS - a cloth product that will soak up rain BUT not let the image streak. Better suited to indoor use, it is very popular with offices, shops, exhibitions and household walls. It is a top quality product that will really give your banner some added value.

On the design tool there are little dots around the edge of the banner. What are they?

The dots indicate where a brass eyelet will be on the finished banner. We have added them at the design stage so that you are aware of them and so that you dont put text where an eyelet is likely to be. People have sent us designs in the past where part of the website address is obliterated by an eyelet.

I am looking for an image in your database and cannot find it. Can you help?

If you cannot find the clip art via the search engine in the website, email us. We can always upload a suitable image at our end and then contact you when it is in place. Then you can add it to your saved banner.

My pictures are not jpegs, what do I do?

We suggest saving them as a jpeg (if this is possible) and placing them in your design. Then once you have purchased your product email your alternative file to us and we will drop it in to place for you.
Similarly if you have already a design that is finished and is in a format such as .eps or .psd, then purchase the right size banner from us and email over your file and we will use it.

How long will my images be stored for?

We will store your banner designs and images for a minimum period of 30 days.Once our server starts to fill up we will be deleting the old unused files in date order.

I started designing a banner and when I came back from lunch all my work had been lost?

We recommend that, if you intend to keep your banner design, you really should sign up and save your work. It requires only a username and password. All your designs are saved into your folder along with any photos you upload. If you choose to design anonymously your session will end within 2 hours and your work will be lost.

Why are your banners so cheap? There must be a catch.

Our banners are priced to be competitive and our websites aims to provide you with a library of images and a selection of tools that aid the designing without over complicating the process. We have the best machines available in the European marketplace for PVC banner printing and our finishing department is kitted out with state of the art equipment. Our production methods are extremely refined and our efficiency allows us to pass this on as a saving to you.

Will the colours in my printed banner look different from the design on my PC screen?

Your monitor is displaying the colour as an RGB (Red, Blue Green) composite, whereas our printers produce that colour as CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) These two colour ranges are different in there make up and therefor show variations in certain parts of the colour range (especially Grey and Blue)
When you print a document with bold coloured text on your home printer you will see the same thing occur. It is unavoidable, we have tried to minimise this by choosing a pallette of colours that are sympathetic to the RGB to CMYK conversion.

Why does my banner have blurry photos? They look fine on my PC.

It is important that you supply us the best quality jpeg image that you can find. If it is less than 500k and looks blurry on your screen, it will not improve when we enlarge it. We will endeavour to optimise your images for print and supply the best that we possibly can.

Is is true that the letters will peel off if I leave the banner outside?

No this is not true. The letters and images will not blur, peel or crack. Modern Digital printing techniques have removed these old problems. They are relegated to the printers that are still using old fashioned cut vinyl and waterbased printing inks. Our banners are printed on waterproof PVC using solvent inks.

What is your company policy on nude photos?

All I will say is: Please do not compromise our professional work environment by submitting content that some of our workers may find offensive. We have refused this type of work in the past and will do so again. Please see our terms and conditions for more information on this subject.
